T. P. McKenna RIP

County Cavan has lost one of its finest sons in T.P. McKenna. I am a friend of his sister Sally.

 I had the great honour of meeting him once. I was bowled over by the fact that I didn’t have to introduce myself to hi. He knew me, not as a historian but as a writer. This pleased me greatly, as I have always said that any numbskull can be a historian, but it takes great skill to be a wordsmith.
